Hong Kong Chapter aims at encouraging alumni to improve knowledge and skills by life long learning, to enhance competitiveness, employability and social status.
Lifelong learners are self-motivated and voluntary to learn things and develop themselves continuously both for personal and professional development throughout life.

- Being trained, coached and mentored on the job and work on development for professional expertise.
Besides literacy, numeracy and IT knowledge are the important skills for lifelong learners in today’s digital world.
The ten useful skills for lifelong learners are similar to soft skills (blog of European Commission in Sept 2020). They are how we behave to connect us with the world around and vital for our survival at all times.

- Creativity – able to generate the original idea to create something.
- Problem solving – able to analyze a problem to create an effective solution.
- Critical thinking – able to interpret, explain, self-regulate and be open-minded.
- Leadership – able to communicate well, motivate and inspire team members, handle and delegate team work.
- Communication – relay and receive information to and from others. These skills are essential for life.
- Cooperation – able to work effectively with other people on an equal basis towards common goal.
- Information management – able to convert information on the internet and make them useful.
- Adaptability – able to learn new skills quickly and change behaviors promptly in response to changing conditions.
- Curiosity – able to learn and quickly overcome obstacles to gain new expertise.
- Reflection – able to pay attention to own thoughts, emotions, decisions, behaviors and learn from mistakes.
